Declaration Creeping bentgrass continues to perform extremely well.
LEBANON, PA. (July 6, 2012) – Declaration Creeping bentgrass continues to perform extremely well with resistance to dollar spot and overall turf quality. In previous NTEP tests it has ranked as the top rated variety for dollar spot resistance. Dr. Stacy Bonos, the well known bentgrass breeder from Rutgers recently shared that so far in 2012 it has be very a aggressive year for dollar spot infections. She has even experienced a new strain of dollar spot that has really affected many varieties in her trials, including many of her newest selections that are yet to become varieties. However, Declaration has really stood the test of time and still exhibits the best overall resistance to dollar spot in her trials. Kudos to Dr. Bonos and Dr. Meyer from Rutgers and Tim Ford from Lebanon for their time tested work on developing Declaration Creeping bentgrass.
Golf course superintendents all over the country who are managing Declaration have seen the same results and have experienced how its high resistance has saved them thousands of dollars per year in fungicide treatments. Availability of Declaration is going to be tight through 2012 and 2013, so please discuss your future needs with your Lebanon Territory Manager.
