His name is Oso, he is a rare dog breed from Mexico called a Calupoh, known as the Mexican Wolf Dog. He is 3 years old and we have had him since he was a small pup at 3 months old. Oso has been at Green River Golf Club since Feb 2023 running alongside Jorge throughout the course. His favorite thing to do on the course is jump in the lakes after racing his dad down the fairways. Whenever coyotes see him, they high tail it in the opposite direction. If you come across him at the course, there is a fantastic chance you will catch him howling to the wind.
I am a Class A Golf Course Superintendent. I have been at my current club going on 4 years. I have been in the golf course industry for 2 decades now. I hold a bachelor’s in Plant and Soil Sciences from Texas Tech. My goal in this industry is to inform the youth about this fantastic career, by holding as many First Greens as possible. I would like to spearhead the environmental movement in turf as well, with two ELGAs under my belt, I hope to continue this relationship between the environment and golf.
