2021 GIS Recap

"Your space. Your pace. All in one place."

Your 2021 GIS LebanonTurf Recap

The Golf Industry Show went virtual this year, having to cancel its original plans of meeting in Las Vegas. Although we’re betting people missed the regular in-person format, the event still continued its tradition of providing lots of education, innovation, and fun. But, if you weren’t able to “attend”, don’t worry. We’ve got all the highlights for you right here:

New Year, New Products

We highlighted some of our best products at the show, products that can be game changers for you in 2021. Below we’ve got a sneak peak, but you can click on the link to learn even more:

  • Humic Max — our new branded humic acid component—specifically intended to optimize plant and soil health, while mitigating environmental stress on the turf plant
  • Country Club — three newly expanded product offerings featuring Humic Max, Ronstar, Mesa, and more!
  • Emerald Isle Solutions — five new foliar fertilizer product offerings to help provide nutrition and assist with managing environmental stress
  • Putting Green Perfection — updates including our brand new Country Club Root Reviver, a specialty fertilizer including nine strains of endomycorrhizal fungi

Dog of the Year

As always, we enjoy giving away great prizes! GIS attendees chose a new Dog of the Year — congrats to Floki from Scarboro Golf & Country Club in Toronto, Ontario! Floki is known for her ability to boost morale in the greens department, where she makes a point to say good morning to each crew member every day. Floki also runs alongside the golf cart all day long, keeping all squirrels, rabbits and Canadian Geese off the turf, with great success. When not at work, Floki delights in pack walks and games of frisbee with her two human sisters, and she can often be found playfully terrorizing the family cat.

With this victory, Floki wins a $3,000 donation to her owner’s local GCSAA chapter, a $500 cash prize, and a $2,000 donation on her behalf to K9’s for Warriors. She also likely wins a lot of congratulatory belly rubs. To see all of the dogs in our 2021 “Dog Days of Golf” calendar, visit our website here.

Always Learning

As an industry, we always love to learn. This year, we were excited to have another conversation with Dr. Mike Fidanza, professor of plant and soil sciences at Penn State Berks. In a session titled, “The Additional Value of Turf Nutrition,” Dr. Fidanza discusses the biological & chemical properties of soil and the importance of getting nutrients to the turf. Embedded video below.

Looking Ahead

We thank everyone who stopped by our virtual booth. We at LebanonTurf are committed to providing our customers with not only great products but also the knowledge it takes to be successful. While we missed being able to visit face-to-face this year, we’re looking forward to reconnecting at GIS 2022 in San Diego! Hope to see you there!
